WOW Competitor is a completely modular saddle which affords the rider the unique opportunity to create a saddle tailored to their specific requirements.

WOW Club is available in three styles—Dressage, Jumping and General Purpose—and incorporate unique WOW features such as Lateral Flexion, Pointless Panels and the Double Stirrup Bar.

An outstanding range of features exist including:

· Lateral Flexion—the carbon fibre Y frame in the WOW tree allows the head of the saddle to flex from side to side working with the horse’s movement—not against it.

· FLAIR—the revolutionary Air Panel System adjusted by the rider to keep up with the changes in horses backs: either from work or weight loss.  Flocked panels also available.

· Double Stirrup Bar—two positions allows the rider to use the forward position for jumping or stability on a young horse or back for a dressage leg position.

· Choice of Front Gussets on Panels—suited to some horses that do not have much muscle or are hollow behind the shoulder/wither.

· Choice of girthing systems—choose either a point strap or double running vee.  Military girthing also available.

· Mono-flap—offers close contact for the riders leg and stability.

· Angled Flap Options - flaps can be angled forward for a rider with a longer thigh or back to bring the knee roll back to meet the knee and thigh for a rider with a shorter leg.

· Length of Flap Options—can be made shorter or longer depending on the rider’s preference

· Extra Deep or Deep Seats—the WOW seat is designed anatomically to assist the rider in sitting trot—supported but without the feeling of being ‘locked’ into the saddle.

· Narrow Twist—WOW has the narrowest of twists, adding to the overall comfort factor for riders.

The WOW Competitor is a custom saddle. 

However, should you change horses the saddle can be converted to fit the new horse with ease while keeping the saddle you love and giving you a saddle for life.

A great deal of thought, consultation with riders and scientific research has gone into producing this saddle.  The results actually ensure that the saddle named itself being the first word riders said when they tried it.

The inter-changeable nature of the components in WOW gives you many more styles of saddle to choose from as well as actual fits for the horse.

Selecting your first WOW Saddle.

Too many options to choose from?  Wondering where to start?  Its just like a restaurant with a delicious menu.

Julia McLean from Kiah Equine admits to feeling a bit daunted at first also “but once I worked out what it was I actually wanted in my saddle it was just a matter of choosing panels and head-plate for my horse.  Then it all just fell into place” she says.

A rider will nearly always know in advance their preference for the seat and size and shape of the knee roll.  We establish the seat size required and the length of flap that will suit.  Very long legs sometimes encounter difficulties with saddle flaps catching on the tops of their long boots so an extra inch in length will negate that.  On the other hand a slightly shortened flap will allow a shorter leg to make a better contact with the side of the horse.  More often than not, the standard length is just perfect.

In commencing the saddle-fit process we first select the right head-plate, fit it to the seat and place in on the horse’s back.  This will allow us to identify whether the horse will require gusseted front panels, or not, or perhaps 3 inch rear gussets instead of standard 2 inch gussets.

The length of panel is important as it is imperative they do not extend beyond the 18th rib.  With WOW saddles it is possible to put a 17” panel under an 18” seat, likewise a 16” panel under a 17” seat,  to enable fitting to a shorter back while accommodating a rider who needs the larger seat. 

This is unique.

With 30 different panel options, there is indeed something to fit any back.  Assessment of the horse’s wither, spine and shoulder will clarify whether he will suit a tabbed panel or not, perhaps an extra wide gullet or extra deep gussets.

With a mouth-watering range of colours customers will be tempted to mix and match to create something truly distinctive.  The eye-catching silver cantle band can also be engraved to further personalise your saddle.

 

This is a very personalized custom saddle really.  What happens if I change horses?

Your saddle can be changed to fit different horses with ease.   No other saddle can do this like WOW.

Making the WOW saddle you love fit a new and different horse may sometimes be as simple as changing the head plate.  Often this is the case given that we are usually drawn to the same type of horse over and over. 

However in the instance where you might have had a higher withered thoroughbred type but now have a wider flatter Warmblood type, a change of panels might be required. 

If you had had a custom saddle made for the first horse it would be unlikely you would be able to transfer it to the next one, in most cases you would require a completely new saddle. 

With WOW we are able to get you a new set of panels to fit this second horse at a considerably lower price than buying a whole new saddle and without changing the saddle you ride in.

WOW gives you a saddle for life.

Why AIR?

 

¨ Air changes shape immediately moulding to the horse’s back instantly and moves with the horse.  Foams and gels cannot do that.  In fact, the ability of foams and gels to absorb concussion is relative to the thickness of those pads.

¨ Air bags in Flair and Korrector reduce bulk.

¨ Air ‘self-levels’ within the pad adjusting to where it is needed.

¨ Both Flair and Korrector allow the rider to adjust and fine tune the balance of a saddle to accommodate seasonal changes in your horse’s back.
